Cansu Dere, 1980 yılında Ankara'da doğmuştur. Eğitimini İstanbul Üniversitesi Arkeoloji Bölümü'nde tamamlamıştır. 2000 yılında katıldığı Miss Turkey yarışmasında 3. olduktan sonra keşfedilmiş ve modellik yapmaya başlamıştır. Türkiye'nin önemli modellerinden biri olmuş ve bir çok defilede yer almıştır. Cansu Dere, oyunculuğa ilk adımını ise 2004 yılında Metro Palas dizisi ile atmıştır. 2006 yılında Mehmet Akif Alakurt ile Sıla dizisinde ilk başrolünü paylaşmıştır. Modellik kadar oyunculuktada oldukça başarılı işler yapmıştır. Ezel, Acı Aşk, Muhteşem Yüzyıl, Behzat Ç. Seni Kalbime Gömdüm gibi önemli projelerde yer almıştır. 2016 yeni sezonunda Star Tv'de yayınlanan Anne dizisinde Zeynep karakterini canlandırmaktadır. Yahşi Batı ve Son Osmanlı Yandım Ali sinema filmlerinde de rol almıştır. L'oreal Paris'in Türkiye yüzü olmuştur.
