Gülenay Kalkan, 1959 yılında Ankara’da doğmuştur. 14 yaşında Ankara Devlet Konservatuarı Tiyatro Bölümü’ne girdi ve Tiyatro yüksek bölümünde eğitimini tamamladı. Ankara Devlet Tiyatrosu ve İstanbul Devlet Tiyatrosunda görev yaptı. 2002 yılında Herşey Aşk İçin dizisinde rol alarak televizyon dünyasına adım attı. Estağfurullah Yokuşu, Sır Gibi, Mazi Kalbimde Yaradır, Bugünün Saraylısı, Kalbim Yangın Yeri dizilerinde rol almıştır. Şimdilerde Star Tv’de yayınlanan Anne dizisinde Cahide karakterini canlandırmaktadır.
