Ahmet Eyüp Türkaslan — Biography
Ahmet Eyüp Türkaslan (11 September 1994 in Yavuzeli, Gaziantep - 7 February 2023 in Malatya) was a Turkish professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Listed at 1.89 m, he had played for clubs including Osmanlıspor and Ümraniyespor before joining Yeni Malatyaspor.
During the earthquakes centred on Kahramanmaraş on 6 February 2023, the building he was in at Malatya collapsed and he was trapped under the rubble. His wife, Kübra Türkaslan, was pulled out alive and appealed on camera for help while the search continued; the Turkish Football Federation announced his death on 7 February 2023. Sources give the date of death as either 6 or 7 February.
He was 28 years old. His shirt was retired in 2025 in his memory.
