Ali Nail Durmuş — Biography

Ali Nail Durmuş is a retired Turkish footballer and football manager, born on 20 November 1970 in Akyazı, Sakarya. A boyhood product of Bursaspor who spent much of his career with the club, he is regarded by fans and the club alike as one of the most significant players in its history, and he is also closely associated with Fenerbahçe. He represented Turkey at the 1991 Mediterranean Games as a midfielder.

After retiring as a player, Durmuş went into coaching, managing clubs including Karacabey Birlikspor, Tavşanlı Linyitspor and Bayburt Özel İdare Spor, and he has also worked periodically as a football commentator for FBTV. His son, Ali Yağız Durmuş, is a television actor.

In 2026 Durmuş was appointed chief advisor for sports at the İYİ Party, extending his standing in Turkish football into the political arena.
