Ali Şaşal Vural was born on 10 July 1990 in the Konak district of İzmir, Turkey. Standing 1.87 m tall, he built the bulk of his career as a goalkeeper for Sivasspor, becoming a well-known figure between the posts in Turkish football.

In late 2025, Vural's name surfaced in connection with a football betting investigation that swept through Turkish football, and he was among the players handed a suspension by the disciplinary board (PFDK) as part of that process. The case was closely followed by Sivasspor's management and the sports press, with the club publicly voicing support for its goalkeeper throughout.
