Atiye — Biography

Deniz Atiye Yılmaz, born 22 November 1988 in Bremen, is a Turkish-German pop singer and songwriter known first under the stage name Atiye Deniz and later by the single name Atiye. The daughter of a Dutch mother, Monique, and a Turkish father, Orhan, whose family comes from Antakya, she spent part of her childhood in Germany, the United States and İzmir, trained as a vocalist in Bremen, and settled permanently in Turkey in 2008.

Her 2007 debut album, Gözyaşlarım, produced the breakout single Don't Think, which spread online and won her a music award. Her self-titled second album followed in 2009 on Sony Music, yielding the chart-topping songs Muamma and Salla, plus a duet with Teoman, Kal, used as a television drama's theme. After her 2011 album Budur, she was named the year's best Turkish act at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

She released Soygun Var in 2013 and, following an eight-year gap, Deli İşi in 2022, an album built around her own compositions. Beyond recording, she judged a Turkish talent competition and appeared in a feature film. She married music producer Erol Sebebci in 2018; the couple had daughters in 2019, 2023 and 2024, and a fourth daughter in August 2026.
