Ayça Varlıer — Biography
Ayça Elif Varlıer, born on 22 June 1977 in Ankara, is a Turkish actress, singer, composer and television presenter. While still in high school she moved to the United States with her family and continued her studies there, graduating from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford; through a joint program between Harvard University and the Moscow Art Theatre School she also spent five months in Moscow and two years in Boston earning a master's degree in acting, appearing in several American plays and musicals along the way.
Returning to Turkey in the early 2000s, Varlıer made her television debut in 2004 with Karım ve Annem, and her breakthrough came with the role of Pınar in Gümüş (2005-2007). She has since appeared in series such as Behzat Ç., Zeytin Tepesi, Son Bahar and Kalk Gidelim, along with lead film roles in Taş Mektep, Günce, Olur Olur! and Mavi Gece. For her performance in the 2010 musical Leyla'nın Evi she won the Afife Theater Award, the Sadri Alışık Award and the Vasfi Rıza Zobu Theater Award, and in 2015 she received a second Sadri Alışık Award for the play Fosforlu'nun Hikayesi. In 2013 she released her debut studio album, Elif.
After an extended absence from Turkish screens, Varlıer announced in the summer of 2026 that she was returning to television with a new series titled Haysiyet.
