Barış Gönenen — Biography
Barış Gönenen was born on September 17, 1989, in İstanbul and graduated from the Theatre Department of Beykent University.
He entered cinema with the 2010 film Canavarlar Sofrası, followed by roles in Baks Bani, Firak and Çekmeköy Undergrand; in 2012 his performance in Limonata, staged by Tiyatro Sıfırnoktaiki, earned him the Best Actor in a Supporting Role prize at the 17th Sadri Alışık Awards and a Young Talent award at the Direklerarası Audience Awards. He moved into television with the series Tatlı İntikam and went on to play Arhan in the Star TV series Hayat Sırları.
He has continued working in both theatre and film, appearing in the 2025 release Gündüz Apollon Gece Athena, which went on to win four prizes at the 58th SİYAD Awards in 2026. He is also known for speaking candidly in interviews about theatre and social issues.
