Barış Özbek — Biography
Barış Özbek (born 14 September 1986 in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) is a German former professional footballer of Turkish descent who played as a defensive midfielder.
After playing in Germany for Rot-Weiss Essen and MSV Duisburg, he joined Galatasaray in 2007 and won the Turkish league title with the club. He later played for Trabzonspor, 1. FC Union Berlin, Kayserispor and Fatih Karagümrük, and represented Germany at youth and under-21 level. After retiring from football, he appeared on the Turkish edition of Survivor in 2021.
