Betül Demir — Biography

Betül Demir is a Turkish singer, songwriter and composer born on 25 September 1980 in Istanbul. Before turning fully to music, she trained in voice, studying for a time in the Opera and Voice program at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University and later graduating from Istanbul University's Faculty of Law.

She entered the music scene with her debut album in 2006, building a following on material shaped with the help of her sister, songwriter-composer-producer Sude Bilge Demir. Over the following years she released studio albums including Süper, Mıknatıs, Esas Duruş and Akustika, followed by an EP titled RETRO-1 in 2025. Writing much of her own material, she has sustained a long career in Turkish pop and made guest appearances on television programmes.

She remains an active recording artist, and in 2026 she put out a new single, Yüzdü Kıyıya.
