Burcu Esmersoy — Biography

Kamile Burcu Esmersoy was born on 2 October 1976 in Istanbul and studied tourism management at Istanbul University before pursuing further studies in hospitality, tourism and sports management in New York. In 1997 she placed in the Miss Turkey pageant and went on to represent Turkey at Miss International in Japan, where she earned a friendship title.

She entered broadcasting through children's programming on Kanal D, then spent the early 2000s at CNN Türk covering sports as a reporter, foreign-news editor and presenter, including on-site coverage of Formula One. A move to NTV brought her the Spor Servisi programme in 2006. Esmersoy went on to host a string of prime-time formats, including the celebrity edition of Survivor, Popstar, the competition Ver Fırına and Komedi Türkiye, and won a Golden Butterfly award as the country's leading female presenter. Alongside hosting, she took supporting roles in the series Dedektif Memoli and Çocuklar Duymasın and appeared in the film Romantik Komedi. Since 2017 she has co-hosted Dünya Güzellerim with Bülent Ersoy, Banu Alkan and Safiye Soyman. She speaks English and Italian, has been married three times, and said in 2024 that she had been in retired status under Turkey's early-pension rules for several years.
