Cedi Osman — Biography

Cedi Osman is a Turkish professional basketball player, born on 8 April 1995 in Ohrid, North Macedonia, who plays the small forward position. After starting out at Bosna Royal, he joined Anadolu Efes's youth academy at age 13 and became a Turkish citizen; he spent four seasons with the first team, being named Turkey's Young Player of the Year in 2014 and a three-time Turkish Super League All-Star.

Selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2015 NBA draft and traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers the same night, Osman spent six seasons with Cleveland from 2017 before joining Gregg Popovich's San Antonio Spurs in 2023. He signed with Panathinaikos in 2024, reaching the EuroLeague Final Four, before leaving the club in the summer of 2026 to sign a three-year deal with PAOK Thessaloniki of the Greek Basketball League and EuroCup.

A national-team fixture since the 2014 FIBA World Cup, Osman captained Turkey to a silver medal at EuroBasket 2025. He is also known for founding the Cedi Osman Academy with his brother Caner and for serving as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Turkey since 2020. He married Turkish actress Ebru Şahin in his hometown of Ohrid, and the couple announced they were expecting a baby in the summer of 2026.
