Cemre Polat — Biography

Cemre Polat is a Turkish actress born in Ankara in 1994. She entered the performing arts through dance, and after classical ballet training she moved in front of the camera to begin taking roles in television series. The work that brought her name to a wide audience was the character Mara, whom she played in the period drama Diriliş Ertuğrul, broadcast on TRT1.

Polat pursued her education in her home city, studying in the Ballet Department of Hacettepe University's Ankara State Conservatory. The physical control, rhythm, and stage discipline she gained during her conservatory years later laid the groundwork for her acting work as well, and she has drawn on this background especially in productions requiring movement and posture.

The actress began her screen career with the 2017 series Meryem, gaining her first professional experience on this project. The series, whose cast included names such as Ayça Ayşin Turan, Furkan Andıç, Cemal Toktaş, Bestemsu Özdemir, Açelya Topaloğlu, Zeynep Kumral, and Serhat Özcan, was Polat's first stop in the television industry.

The actress's best-known work is Diriliş Ertuğrul, which began airing in 2014 and was directed by Metin Günay. In the period drama, which tells the story of the Kayı tribe's struggle, Polat brought the character named Mara to life. In the production, which had a large cast, alongside lead actor Engin Altan Düzyatan appeared names such as Aslıhan Güner, Ayberk Pekcan, Burak Hakkı, Ali Ersan Duru, Birand Tunca, Barış Bağcı, Aysun Demir, Batuhan Karacakaya, and Arda Anarat.
