Ceyhun Eriş — Biography

Ceyhun Eriş (born 15 May 1977) is a retired Turkish international footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and playmaker. Wikidata, DBpedia and the German and French articles give his birthplace as Istanbul, while Turkish sources name Giresun, the province his family comes from.

Over his career he turned out for Gençlerbirliği, Galatasaray, Denizlispor, Ankaragücü, Konyaspor, Trabzonspor, Sivasspor, Çaykur Rizespor, Fenerbahçe, Samsunspor and Göztepe, with his only spell abroad at FC Seoul in South Korea. He represented Turkey at senior, under-21 and B-team level.

After retiring he moved into punditry on television and digital platforms, appearing regularly with derby previews and national-team commentary. In February 2026 the outlets BirGün and Halk TV reported that he had been given a 12-month suspension by the Turkish Football Federation over betting, and that he was working as a commentator on a betting company's YouTube channel.
