Çılgın Sedat — Biography

Born Sedat Kapurtu, Çılgın Sedat came into the world in İstanbul in 1973, though his family roots trace back to Sivas. Drawn to football as a teenager, he later turned toward music, pursuing vocal training after completing coursework at the Kadıköy Public Education Center.

A multi-instrumentalist who plays the kanun, bağlama, drums and keyboard, he has also trained in karate, taekwondo and kickboxing. Between 2008 and 2011 he played professional football for Zeytinburnuspor, releasing albums such as Delikanlı Gibi and Bi Daha mı Tövbe during the same period.

He competed on Survivor on Tv8 in 2017, and around that time he and his wife Özlem Kapurtu drew public attention for their devotion to their son Siraç, who lives with cerebral palsy; the couple were named Father and Mother of the Year by OnurAkayMedya. In 2026 he moved followers again by using AI technology to create an emotional video gift for his son.
