Doğan Andaç — Biography
Doğan Recep Andaç was born in Ankara in 1923 and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel during his military career before turning to football administration. He served several times as caretaker manager of the Turkish national football team and also worked as a coach at club level.
In 1980 he was appointed interim president of the Turkish Football Federation for one month, and through the 1980s and 1990s he intermittently sat on the federation's board. Andaç is remembered as a key figure in the institutionalization of Turkish football and is credited with mentoring a generation of later coaches, including Fatih Terim. He died in Ankara on 6 February 2013.
