Emina Sandal — Biography
Emina Sandal, known by her birth name Emina Jahović, was born on 15 January 1982 in Novi Pazar, then part of Yugoslavia. Of Bosniak descent and holding both Serbian and Turkish citizenship, she launched her music career in 2002 and has since released six studio albums: Tačka, Radije ranije, Vila, Metamorfoza, Dalje and Svitanje.
Beyond music, Jahović played the character Lale Taşkıran Ilgaz in the television series Lale Devri between 2010 and 2014, and later served as a judge on the talent competitions X Factor Adria (2013) and Rising Star Türkiye (2016). Her brother, Mirsad Türkcan, was the first Turkish player to appear in the NBA.
She was previously married to prominent Turkish pop singer Mustafa Sandal; their subsequent alimony and compensation disputes drew considerable media attention in Turkey during 2025 and 2026.
