Emre Altuğ — Biography

Niyazi Emre Altuğ (born 14 April 1970 in Istanbul) is a Turkish pop singer-songwriter, actor, presenter and music producer. He studied theatre at the Istanbul State Conservatory and began his music career in the 1990s as a backing vocalist for leading pop artists of the era such as Sezen Aksu, Nilüfer, Sertab Erener and Levent Yüksel, while also appearing on stage at the Haldun Dormen Theatre for three seasons.

He made his breakthrough in 1999 with his debut album “İbret-i Alem”, and in 2000 acted in the musical “Bir Kış Öyküsü”. He went on to star in popular television series such as “Tatlı Hayat”, “Lise Defteri”, “Sensiz Olmuyor”, “Elde Var Hayat” and “Yalı Çapkını”, as well as in films including “Kolay Para” (2002), “Neredesin Firuze”, “Durak” (2017) and “Mezarcı” (2017). Alongside acting, he remains one of Turkey's most popular male pop singers and continues to perform on stage.
