Emre Özkan — Biography

Emre Özkan is a Turkish former footballer, born on 24 December 1988 in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul, who played as a left-back. He took up football at the age of eleven at Feneryoluspor, then had a brief spell at Bağlarbaşıspor before moving to Beşiktaş in 2002 alongside teammate Emre İncemollaoğlu. After time in Beşiktaş's reserve side, he signed a professional contract with the first team in the 2005-06 season, first taking the field in a Turkish Cup tie against Sarıyer on 21 February 2006 and making his league debut against Samsunspor that same March. He won the Turkish Cup with Beşiktaş in the 2006-07 season.

In the years that followed he was sent out on loan in turn to Zeytinburnuspor, MKE Ankaragücü, Eskişehirspor and Orduspor, and his spells at Orduspor coincided with the club's rise into the Süper Lig. Ahead of the 2013-14 season he moved outright to Karabükspor, and in 2016 he agreed a one-year deal with Bucaspor. Later in his career he competed in Turkey's fourth-tier league with Ergene Velimeşe. Özkan also represented Turkey at under-18, under-19 and under-21 level, scoring for the under-21 side against Ireland during UEFA Euro 2011 qualifying.
