Emrullah Şalk — Biography

Emrullah Şalk was born on 28 July 1987 in the Fatih district of Istanbul. He turned professional as a goalkeeper with Zeytinburnuspor in 2005, then moved to Çaykur Rizespor after the 2007-08 season, where he made only a handful of league appearances over two seasons.

He subsequently signed with Samsunspor but never played for the club, being loaned out to Eyüpspor instead; once that contract ended he returned to Eyüpspor. He joined Kayseri Erciyesspor during the 2011-12 mid-season transfer window, then moved to Konyaspor the following season, winning a promotion play-off title with the club. In 2013 he signed with second-tier side Balıkesirspor and helped the team reach the Süper Lig in his first season, earning a contract renewal; after the 2014-15 season he left Balıkesirspor for Adana Demirspor. In 2008 he received a single call-up to Turkey's under-21 national team but remained an unused substitute.

Later in his career he played in the Süper Lig for Konyaspor (2018) and Bursaspor (2020). After retiring from professional football, he returned to public attention in December 2025 when he was taken into custody as part of an investigation into alleged manipulation on the Borsa Istanbul stock exchange.
