Eray Birniçan — Biography
Eray Birniçan is a Turkish professional footballer, born on 20 July 1988 in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul, who plays as a goalkeeper. He began his career in the Yıldırım Bosnaspor youth academy, where his performances earned him call-ups to several age groups of Turkey's youth national teams, for whom he made 13 appearances, including a run to fourth place with the Turkey under-17 side at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
That success led to a move to Konyaspor in 2005, where he made his Süper Lig debut against Manisaspor on 13 May 2006. Spending most of the rest of his contract with the reserve side, he was loaned to First League club Samsunspor for the 2008-09 season before returning to Konyaspor. Ahead of the 2010-11 season he joined Süper Lig side Gaziantepspor, wearing the number 34 shirt, and started all six matches as the club won the Spor Toto Cup in 2011-12.
He later moved to Çaykur Rizespor, where he found limited playing time behind Serkan Kırıntılı, before rejoining Gaziantepspor ahead of the 2014-15 season. In the following years the veteran goalkeeper went on to play for Kasımpaşa, and later continued his career with Second League side Belediye Derincespor.
