Erol Büyükburç — Biography
Erol Büyükburç (8 August 1936, Adana – 12 March 2015, Istanbul) was a Turkish pop singer, songwriter, composer and actor. He was educated at Vefa High School in Istanbul.
Regarded as one of the pioneers of Turkish pop music thanks to his distinctive style and stage shows, he was nicknamed "Turkey's Elvis" and was awarded the title of State Artist.
Alongside his music career he appeared in films, including Avare Aşık (1970), entries in the Turist Ömer series, Bitmeyen Azap (1980) and Neredesin Firuze (2004).
