Eypio — Biography

Abdurrahim Akça (born 2 February 1983 in Konya), known by his stage name Eypio, is a Turkish rapper, singer and songwriter. Born to a Turkmen family that had migrated from Afghanistan, he grew up in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district before moving to the Netherlands in 2002, where his musical career began.

Recording under the name A.P.O, he released his debut EP in 2005 followed by underground albums such as Rap Fabriek, Hırsız Var and Apollo. He returned to Turkey in 2008, opened a hip hop clothing store in Istanbul and founded his own music studio in 2009. In 2013 he adopted the stage name Eypio. His 2015 collaboration with Burak King, Günah Benim, drew hundreds of millions of views and brought him nationwide fame; the album of the same name followed in 2016.

Eypio also became widely known for his music for the television series Çukur and composed for films including Direniş: Karatay and Pocket Hercules: Naim Süleymanoğlu. In 2021 he served as a judge on O Ses Türkiye Rap, and he has continued releasing albums such as Urgan (2020) and Bi Taksi Çağırın (2023).
