Fahri Tatan — Biography

Fahri Tatan is a former Turkish international midfielder whose career kept leading him back to his home-town club Çaykur Rizespor, where he later worked as sporting director. His playing path ran from the Süper Lig down to the third tier.

He moved from Pazarspor to Fenerbahçe's youth set-up and turned professional on 20 July 1999. At the end of 2002-03 he transferred to Rizespor, and after four seasons joined Beşiktaş. With the black-and-whites he won the Turkish Super Cup in 2006 and the Turkish Cup in 2006-07, but with little playing time he was loaned back to Rizespor for 2007-08. Later spells came at Konyaspor, Denizlispor, Eskişehirspor and Adanaspor, and in early 2012 he rejoined Rizespor once more. Yeni Malatyaspor, Sakaryaspor, Erzurumspor and Kartalspor were the last stops of his playing days.

For the Turkey national team he made eight appearances, all in friendlies. The first was a 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan on 12 April 2006, which he entered as a second-half substitute. In June 2021 he became Rizespor's sporting director and resigned in April 2022.
