Feyyaz Uçar — Biography

Feyyaz Uçar was born on 27 October 1963 in Istanbul's Avcılar district, the first child of Bekir and Nadide Uçar; he began playing at Avcılar Kulübü before moving into Beşiktaş's youth system and breaking into the first team in the 1982-83 season. As the leading scorer of the trio he formed with Metin Tekin and Ali Gültiken, he scored 170 league goals in 320 matches over sixteen seasons, becoming one of the club's greatest strikers, and hit a hat-trick in the record 10-0 win over Adana Demirspor on 15 October 1989. A physical-education graduate of Marmara University, he won his first cap against England on 29 April 1987 and his last against Norway on 28 April 1993, totalling 25 senior appearances. A dispute with Beşiktaş president Süleyman Seba in 1994 sent him to Fenerbahçe, and he later played for Antalyaspor and Kuşadasıspor before retiring on 31 May 1997. His coaching path ran from assisting Mircea Lucescu at Beşiktaş to leading Yeni Malatyaspor to promotion and, by 2018, managing Van BB; from 2023 to 2024 he served as head of Beşiktaş's football department under the club's management. In December 2025 he lost his three-and-a-half-month-old grandson, and the football community offered its condolences.
