Fuat Göztepe — Biography
Ahmet Fuat Göztepe (16 June 1912 – 13 April 1992) was a Turkish footballer from İzmir who spent his playing career with Altay and Göztepe, two of the city's leading clubs during the early Republican era.
He was selected for Turkey's squad at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, though he did not appear in any matches at the tournament. Following the 1934 Surname Law, he adopted the name of the club he was most closely identified with, following the example of fellow İzmir greats Vahap Özaltay and Sait Altınordu.
After retiring as a player, he went on to work as a coach and administrator for Göztepe. He is remembered in İzmir today, the city where he was born and died, through a park and a memorial that bear his name.
