Gülşen Yüksel — Biography

Gülşen Yüksel is a Turkish journalist born in Sivas on June 24, 1977. She built her professional identity in celebrity/entertainment journalism, and after many years in print media she became a well-known face on television screens. Following her marriage she has sometimes also been referred to as Gülşen Yüksel Salt.

Yüksel completed her higher education in a journalism department and began her career in print media. She worked for a long period on the staff of Sabah newspaper, then moved to Vatan newspaper, where she served as entertainment editor. These years in journalism laid the foundation of her expertise in celebrity reporting.

From 2007 she moved into television alongside her colleague Müge Dağıstanlı. Over the years the pair worked together on celebrity/entertainment programs broadcast on various channels, and this joint hosting became one of the familiar duos of Turkish television's entertainment-news slot. Yüksel's best-known on-screen work was the program 2. Sayfa, which she presented together with Dağıstanlı.

After this long-running on-screen partnership came to an end, Yüksel left 2. Sayfa and bid farewell to television viewers; the decision to part ways received wide coverage in the entertainment press. In her private life she is married to Metin Salt.
