Hakan Hacıbektaşoğlu — Biography

Hasan Hakan Hacıbektaşoğlu was born on 23 April 1984 in Istanbul and is a retired Turkish footballer who played as a holding midfielder. He came up through Beşiktaş's youth system and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2003, before moving mid-season to second-tier side Fatih Karagümrük, where he made his official debut.

Over the following years he turned out for numerous second- and first-division clubs, joining Göztepe during the 2010-11 mid-season transfer window and contributing to a spell in which the club won its league and earned promotion; reports from 2017 also link him to a two-year deal with a club in Rize. Later in his career he played for Bayrampaşaspor.

At international level, Hacıbektaşoğlu represented Turkey across the U-17, U-18 and U-19 age groups, earning sixteen caps in total and scoring four goals. After retiring as a player he moved into club administration, being appointed Adanaspor's sporting director in August 2020 before leaving that post a year later.
