İlhan Mansız — Biography
İlhan Mansız was born in 1975 in Kempten, Germany, and is of Crimean Tatar descent.
İlhan Mansız, whose interest in football began at a young age, played in the youth academies of SV Lenzfried, FC Kempten, and FC Augsburg, and quickly drew attention with the goals he scored.
He first began earning money in football at the age of 19 with FC Köln, but upon his father's wish to return to Turkey, he decided to continue his football career there.
He transferred to Gençlerbirliği, but after appearing in only two matches during his first season, they mutually terminated the contract.
After playing for Kuşadasıspor and Samsunspor, although he signed a contract with Galatasaray for the 2001-02 season, he transferred to Beşiktaş following an offer from the club.
With the 21 goals he scored throughout the season, he became the top scorer along with Galatasaray player Arif Erdem and managed to rise to the national team.
İlhan Mansız, who wore the national team jersey 38 times, scored 7 goals in these matches.
The goal he scored against Senegal in the 94th minute of the 2002 FIFA World Cup quarter-final match became the most important goal of his life and made his name known throughout the world.
Mansız, who announced his retirement from football in 2009, joined the cast of the series Doktorlar in 2008 and portrayed the character Ömer.
He participated in the Survivor 2017 competition, prepared and presented by Acun Ilıcalı, which aired on television screens.
