İlyas Yalçıntaş — Biography

İlyas Yalçıntaş finished Küçükçekmece İMKB Anatolian High School and began playing guitar at sixteen, performing at various venues to earn a living before his breakthrough. He wrote the lyrics for his duet Şehrin Yolu himself and composed it with Emre Can Yıldız, with arrangement by Aytaç Kart. Among the singles that followed his X Factor Türkiye run were "Gel Be Gökyüzüm" (2017), which helped build a following for him in Iran, and "Mask" (2022), a duet with Iranian singer Farzad Farzin; he also recorded "Hiç Unutma" with Sinan Akçıl and "Şahit" with Ece Mumay. He recorded "Resim" with Faruk Sabancı for the tribute album Serdar Ortaç Şarkıları, and "Hüzün" for the similar project Bülent Özdemir Şarkıları. In December 2023 he announced he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. On 16 July 2026 he was detained and, the same day, arrested as part of a drug investigation that also targeted several other well-known figures; in his statement he said the "precision scale" seized in the operation was an ordinary kitchen scale.
