İsmail Küçükkaya — Biography

İsmail Küçükkaya was born in 1972 in Kütahya and studied journalism at Gazi University's Department of Journalism before entering the media in 1991 as a reporter for the Hürriyet newspaper; he went on to work at the Star and Sabah newspapers and to write a column for Akşam. In 2003 he became the Ankara representative of SKYTÜRK television, and from 2005 to 2008 he held the same post for Akşam before rising to become the newspaper's editor-in-chief, a position he was forced to leave in June 2013.

He soon began hosting the morning program Çalar Saat on Fox TV, presenting it for roughly nine years, and moderated high-profile live broadcasts over his career, including a joint appearance of candidates during the 2019 İstanbul mayoral election process. In 2022 he left Fox TV for Halk TV, departed that channel in turn in late 2025 and briefly hosted a program on TV100, and divorced Eda Demirci, whom he had married in 2016, in 2020.
