Kemal Aydın — Biography

Kemal Aydın was born on 19 January 1934 in the village of Derekışla in Balâ, Ankara Province. Educated at Gazi Anadolu Lisesi, he spent the bulk of his football career with Gençlerbirliği, playing in various positions for the club over many years. Although he was never called up to the national team, he was regarded by supporters as one of the best players of his era at the club.

Known on the pitch by the nickname "Kara Kemal," Aydın went on to take up administrative roles after his playing days, serving as General Coordinator of the Turkish Football Federation in 1985. He died in Ankara on 8 January 2019.
