Kerem Demirbay — Biography
Kerem Demirbay (born 3 July 1993 in Herten, Germany) is a German footballer of Turkish descent who plays as a midfielder. He came through Bundesliga clubs Hamburger SV, Kaiserslautern, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen, and won the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup with the German national team after switching allegiance from Turkey's youth setup. In Turkey he has played for Galatasaray, Eyüpspor and Kasımpaşa, and is nicknamed "Dayı" after a character from a popular Turkish television series he is said to resemble.
Demirbay left Eyüpspor for Kasımpaşa in January 2026 and remained with the Süper Lig club through the rest of the season, commenting on the team's league-survival win over Galatasaray in May 2026.
