Kubilay Sönmez — Biography
Kubilay Sönmez (born 17 June 1994 in Kamen, Germany) is a German-born Turkish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Standing 1.83 m tall, he began his career in Germany and spent part of it with Schalke 04.
In Turkey he played for clubs including Kayserispor, Erzurumspor, Adana Demirspor, Hatayspor, Göztepe, Bursaspor and Şanlıurfaspor. He joined Erzurumspor in 2017 and moved from Göztepe to Bursaspor in 2021. In January 2026 he signed with TFF 1. Lig side Manisa FK.
Although born in Germany, Sönmez chose to represent Turkey internationally, appearing for the Turkish under-20 and under-21 national teams.
