Kürşat Duymuş — Biography
Kürşat Duymuş (born 1 February 1979 in Muş) is a Turkish former footballer who played as a defender and appeared for the national side.
During his professional career he turned out for Şekerspor, Çaykur Rizespor, Ankaraspor, Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor, Kayseri Erciyesspor and Orduspor. One turning point came in the summer of 2005, when the Turkish press reported that he wished to stay at Beşiktaş and duly signed a four-year contract with the club. He later played for a series of clubs outside Istanbul and made headlines in 2012 after being left out of the Akhisar Belediyespor squad.
In interviews given years afterwards he described his spell at Çaykur Rizespor as one of the most enjoyable periods of his career. Following his retirement he maintained his ties with his native Muş, where local newspapers reported in 2024 that he had taken up a position at the city's club, Muşspor, and had called on local businesspeople to support the team.
