Lütfi Aksoy — Biography
Lütfi Aksoy (17 July 1911, Istanbul - 5 September 1998) was a Turkish former international footballer, football referee, and administrator who played as a defender. He played for storied clubs including Karşıyaka SK and Galatasaray, and is remembered as the second-ever international player produced by Karşıyaka.
Aksoy reached the peak of his playing career at Galatasaray during one of the club's less successful spells, and took part in a match that helped shape the club's storied rivalry with Fenerbahçe. He was part of the national team squad at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, and after retiring as a player went on to work as a football referee and later as an administrator within the Turkish Football Federation.
