Malik Fathi — Biography
Malik Fathi is a German former footballer, born on October 29, 1983, in West Berlin to a Turkish father and a German mother. He played as a left-back and occasionally as a center-back for clubs including 1860 Munich and Mainz 05 in Germany, Spartak Moscow in Russia, and Kayserispor in Turkey.
Fathi represented Germany at various youth and senior national team levels and obtained Turkish citizenship in October 2012, though he never switched his international allegiance to Turkey. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching and has served as an assistant coach to Sebastian Hoeneß at VfB Stuttgart.
