Megan Gale — Biography

Megan Gale is a model, actress and television presenter whose face is familiar in both Italy and her native Australia. She became known through a run of Italian telecom commercials, and over the years has also worked in fashion design, presenting and acting. In May 2026, twenty years later, she appeared in a commercial for another Italian telecom brand, Iliad Italia.

She won a modelling contest in Perth at 18 and, a few years on, in 1999, became the face of Omnitel's (now Vodafone Italia) advertising, a role that lasted until 2006. In 2001 she presented the Sanremo Music Festival, in 2003 was retained as the Australian Tourist Commission's "face of Australia" in Italy, and she hosted a radio programme there. Her contract with the David Jones department stores became one of the longest-running fashion deals in Australia. As an actress she followed the Italian comedies Vacanze di Natale 2000 and Stregati dalla luna with a small part in Stealth (2005), released in Turkey as Görünmez Savaşçı, then played Fatma in The Water Diviner (2014) and the Valkyrie in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015); Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022) is also on her record. In 2008 she was offered Wonder Woman in George Miller's shelved Justice League project.

In 2010 she launched the swimwear label Isola, in 2011 hosted Project Runway Australia, and from 2016 sat as a judge on Australia's Next Top Model. She became national ambassador for Kids Help Line in 2005 and the Red Cross's first official National Ambassador in 2009.
