Mehmet Ekici — Biography
Mehmet Ekici (born 25 March 1990, Germany) is a former Turkish international footballer who was raised in Germany.
Ekici began playing football at a very young age with SpVgg Unterhaching. In 1997 he moved to the youth academy of Bayern Munich, where he spent about ten years playing for the club's various youth teams. He was promoted to FC Bayern Munich II for the 2007–08 season, and a year later moved up to Bayern's first team. In 2010–11 he was transferred to Nürnberg. After a single season there, he moved to Werder Bremen for a fee of 5 million euros. He played three seasons at Werder Bremen before transferring to Trabzonspor in the summer of 2014 for 1.5 million euros. He played for Trabzonspor until 2017. At the start of 2017, during the winter transfer window, he was left out of the squad after expressing his desire to move to Fenerbahçe. After the season ended, Fenerbahçe announced on 5 June 2017 that they had reached an agreement with Mehmet Ekici.
