Mehmet Ekşi — Biography
Mehmet Ekşi was born on 1 April 1953 in Elazığ and became one of Turkish football's recognizable figures, both as a former international player and later as a manager.
He began his career at Trabzonspor, featuring for two seasons in the squad nicknamed the “Black Sea Storm,” which dominated Turkish football for a decade starting in 1975 and became the first Anatolian club to win the national championship. He then spent many years at Beşiktaş, where he served as team captain and was part of the squad that ended a 15-year title drought by winning the 1981–82 championship, cementing his place among the club's historically important players.
After his playing career, Ekşi worked as a manager and later took on roles within Beşiktaş's youth academy, contributing to the development of young players.
