Mehmet Türkmehmet — Biography

Mehmet Türkmehmet is an Iraqi Turkmen midfielder born on 18 October 1980 in Kirkuk, Iraq, who built his entire senior career in Turkish football. He broke through with Ankaragücü in the early 2000s, featuring in Süper Lig fixtures against clubs such as Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.

He went on to represent Elazığspor, Orduspor, Eskişehirspor and Şanlıurfaspor before joining Yeni Malatyaspor in the mid-2010s, a spell he summed up with the promise that the team would "reach the place it deserved." Later in his career he turned out for Karşıyaka in the TFF First League, closing out a long and well-travelled journey through Turkey's Anatolian football clubs as a dependable central midfielder.
