Mehmet Yeşil — Biography

Mehmet Yeşil was born on 31 May 1998 in Ergani. A Kurdish centre-back born into a footballing family - his cousin Hakan Yeşil plays professionally too - he came up through the youth systems of Erganispor and Trabzonspor. Promoted to Trabzonspor's first team in 2016, he made his senior debut against Kasımpaşa that May before moving that same summer to İstanbulspor in the second tier, where he was later loaned out to Ofspor in January 2019.

He played a part in İstanbulspor's promotion to the top flight after roughly seventeen years away, and went on to become a regular in Amedspor's defence, helping the side reach the top flight in its own right; he has also built a reputation for his easy rapport with supporters.
