Mert Çetin — Biography
Yıldırım Mert Çetin is a Turkish international footballer, born in 1997 in the Çankaya district of Ankara, who plays as a 1.89-meter-tall centre-back. After coming through the youth ranks at Gençlerbirliği, he drew attention with a reportedly record-fee move to Italian club Roma, later turning out on loan for Hellas Verona and for MKE Ankaragücü back in Turkey.
Çetin has represented Turkey at both youth and senior national-team level. He joined Boluspor in January 2026 and signed for second-tier side Erzincanspor that June; as of July 2026 he remains with Erzincanspor, training with the club during its pre-season camp.
