Mert Müldür — Biography
Mert Müldür was born on 3 April 1999 in Vienna to a family of Turkish descent, and holds both Turkish and Austrian citizenship. A versatile defender who can play as a right-back or centre-back, he began his career with Rapid Wien, went on to play in Italy for Sassuolo, and later moved to Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe, where he continues to play. He has represented Turkey's senior national team since 2018 and has featured at two European Championships, in 2020 and 2024.
His goal against Georgia in Turkey's 3-1 win on 18 June 2024 was voted the best goal of the tournament by fans at EURO 2024. In the summer of 2026 he was linked with a transfer to Italian club Roma, though he remains a Fenerbahçe player.
