Mömin Rizo — Biography
Mömin Rizo, born Möminjon Qoçqorov, is a well-known Uzbek film and television actor. The role that made him widely recognised in Uzbekistan was Super Kamanda in 2005; since then he has led both Uzbek productions and ones made with Turkish and Indian partners. He was awarded the Doʻstlik order in 2011 and the title of Honored Artist of Uzbekistan in 2017.
He was born in the Fergana region into a family of intellectuals. After high school he studied at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University's faculty of law and customs from 2001 to 2006, but began acting in 2005 with Super Kamanda. Although it was his first role, the production earned good ratings. His role as Ulugbek in Bahor oylarida then won him the prize for best Uzbek negative character of the year, and in 2006 he was among the winners of the NTT channel's Favorite Uzbek Actor award. On television he continued with Yuraklar jangi (2018), for which he was nominated for best actor by the Association of Film and Television Producers; in 2019 he was a laureate of the national television award Golden Ribbon.
In 2019 he played one of the leads in Egizak oshiqlar, produced by Ruslan Mirzayev and shot in Istanbul. He took leading roles in the Turkish-Uzbek series Ishq o'yinlari (2020-2021), in the India-Uzbekistan co-production Khuda Haafiz (2020), and from 2022 in the series Yur Muhabbat. His wife, Ziyoda Normuradova, is also an actress.
