Muhammed Mert — Biography
Born in Hasselt, Belgium, on 9 February 1995, Muhammed Mert is a dual Belgian-Turkish midfielder who represented Turkey at under-15 level and Belgium at under-19 level before turning professional. He began his senior career in 2013 through the Genk academy.
His club journey since then has taken him through NEC and Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands, Víkingur in Iceland, and back to the Netherlands with FC Den Bosch, before returning to Turkish football with Altınordu, Hatayspor, Manisa FK and Ümraniyespor. Standing 1.74 metres tall, Mert has built a reputation as a versatile midfielder who has kept finding a place in the rotation wherever he has played.
