Murat Alyüz — Biography
Murat Alyüz was born on 16 August 1920 in Istanbul and started playing football at Darüşşafaka High School. He transferred to Fenerbahçe in 1941 and, playing mostly as a right-back, made 314 appearances and scored 14 goals for the club through 1952, helping it win three Istanbul League titles, four National Division titles, one Turkish Championship, three Prime Minister's Cups and one Istanbul Cup.
Alyüz earned his first cap for the Turkish national team in 1948 against Greece, ending an 11-year gap in the squad's fixtures, and was part of the team that reached the quarterfinals at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, earning four caps in total. He died on 30 May 2006 in Istanbul, the city of his birth.
