Murat Ocak — Biography
Murat Ocak was born on 1 January 1982 in the Bafra district of Samsun province and played as a left-back throughout his career.
He began playing amateur football at Samsun Yolspor, came up through the Samsunspor youth ranks, and turned professional with third-tier club Çarşambaspor in 2001, spending two seasons there followed by two more at Çorumspor. In the 2005-06 season he moved to İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor, playing the full 90 minutes in all 32 of his league matches and earning his first national-team call-up at season's end. He joined Trabzonspor on 30 June 2006, was loaned to MKE Ankaragücü during the winter window and later loaned back to İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor. After returning to Trabzonspor he moved on to Manisaspor and then, at his own request, to Çaykur Rizespor, where he signed a two-year contract. At the start of the 2011-12 season he transferred to second-tier club Altay.
He received his first national-team call-up in 2006 for preparation matches ahead of European Championship qualifying, and made his debut in a 1-1 draw against Estonia. Ocak brought his professional playing career to a close in 2015.
