Murat Ural — Biography

Murat Ural is a Swiss retired footballer and manager of Turkish descent, born 5 July 1987 in Bellinzona, standing 1.84 m tall. A trained lawyer, he moved into coaching once his playing days ended.

Playing as a forward, he began his career with the Grasshoppers before spending two seasons with St. Gallen's junior side. He was loaned to Vaduz in July 2008, appearing for the club from early 2009 before returning to St. Gallen. A brief loan spell at Servette followed at the end of June 2009, after which he again returned to St. Gallen. On 1 October 2009 he moved to Gossau on loan for the remainder of that season.

After retiring as a player, Ural moved into coaching. On 13 February 2024 he was named interim co-coach of Zürich alongside Umberto Romano following Bo Henriksen's abrupt departure; the pair were dismissed on 22 April 2024 after the club slipped from third to sixth in the table. He then took the interim head-coaching role at VfL Bochum in October 2024, leaving the post two weeks later.
