Mustafa Durak

Mustafa Durak — Biography

Mustafa Durak is a footballer born in France who holds both French and Turkish citizenship. A right winger and attacking midfielder standing 1.80 m, he took his career from France to Belgium and then to Turkey's top flight and lower leagues; his promotion to Ligue 2 with Chamois Niortais and his Süper Lig spell with Gaziantepspor are the standout stops.

Born in Strasbourg to a Turkish immigrant family, he began as a professional in 2005 with the reserve side of his home-city club, Racing Strasbourg. In 2009 he went to Virton in Belgium, then played for Gap, where he scored 13 goals in 38 matches in a single season. He joined Niort in summer 2011 and the team finished runners-up in the Championnat National to reach Ligue 2. In 2012-13 he scored five goals in 20 Ligue 2 matches and peaked with a hat-trick against Dijon, but an injury kept him out for weeks. His time at Niort ended with that season.

In 2013 he signed a three-year contract with Gaziantepspor. He made his Süper Lig debut away at Galatasaray, setting up a goal, and scored his first goal in October 2013 against Hatayspor in the Turkish Cup. In the years that followed he played mostly in the lower divisions in Turkey: he stayed on with Boluspor, agreed terms with Manisa FK in October 2020 and with Urfaspor in 2021, and also played for Ergene Velimeşe.
